SHADOWS
Creepy Duck
Nick
Lucille
Normal Shadow Reflection:
I took a picture of a baseball wrapped in Mardi Gras beads because it was for my Halloween costume. I’m a large Walking Dead fan, and a new character entered the show who has a baseball bat wrapped in barbed wire. In trying to emulate him, I took a shadow picture of his intimidating weapon, Lucille the bat, and I was very proud with the results. The owner of Lucille is named Negan and he is a very dark and gritty character. I think that by making the picture black and white, emphasizing details in the ground tile (giving it a darker and grittier feeling), and by placing focus of the dreadful (fake) barbed wire, I have given Negan some of the credit he deserves by being one of the most feared and dark villains on a great TV show.

Normal Reflection Artist Statement:
I took a picture of a light fixture, while lit, as a reflection in a glass table. I really like the detail and the tight circumference of light surrounding the illuminated bulbs. The contrast between the man-made design and the nature of the leaves’ design provides an interesting and almost unexplainable contrast as this would never occur in any situation other than a prepared one. I also like the symbolism that one bulb is out: almost as if to say that some people are dull or just work quite right. I’m glad that we had this assignment or I never would have taken this picture and had this cool experience.
